1. Supply Line
Our main aim to supply Scottish produce fresh food products as many as we can. We hand pick our suppliers because they are good, principled people who can offer us quality animals that have led happy lives.
We work directly with the farmer who are locally from Scotland. (For e.g. “Farmer Archie Mclane from Bara has 50 years of experience and Farmer Colin from Stirlingshire has more 20 years of experience in meat/livestock industry.. As our partner they also shares our vision of providing the consumer with best quality meat”.)
We are against: cheap tasteless meat, feeds, the use of steroids and hormones, battery farming, unnatural farming methods, intensive farming, profit driven exploitation of animals and questionable “halal” meat.
What we’re for
Only high quality meat, naturally reared animals, free-range farming, compassionate suppliers, small scale/local produce, a personalised service and real halal meat.
2. Black Face lamb
We mainly select this breed because as Blackface Lamb are reared by extensive grazing on species rich moorlands throughout the UK, they have included in their diet of some of the UK’s most delicious herbs, grasses and berries, which in some areas include: heather, bilberries, white clover, meadow buttercups, purple moor grass, radishes, and mustards such as Lady’s Smock.
It’s naturally lean free from any supplements, hormones or steroids. The animals lead a happy life and treated with compassion.
As a traditional breed, Blackface Lambs naturally mature later in the season and, therefore, retain their flavour and succulence well into the New Year.
For our beef comes from only Scottish bread reared and free range animals, and we always take breed and age as a high consideration when choosing our cows.
Our poultry products comes from a reputable and top producer in the chicken and poultry industry. They also believe on animal welfare, quality and heigh moral values of halal products.
3. Slaughter Houses
Only lambs, poultry and other herbivores slaughtered in particular slaughter houses. Where people are very well aware of the whole process of halal slaughtering, its chilling process storage, and transporting the meat without any contact with non halal meat.
4. Monitoring
We make regular visits to our farmers, slaughter houses, and chicken suppliers to closely monitor and ensure that the process fulfils all the requirements needed for halal meats.
Management certified in food hygiene regularly review the producers involved with handling, preparing, packaging and transporting our meat, chicken, and fresh food. We make sure our staff have a good knowledge of food hygiene. A proper documentation system is in place to make sure complete traceability and accountability for our supply chain of fresh food, and especially so for our meats.
