Star Aniseed – TRS

Anise is used whole or crushed in baked products, pickles, stews and curries, roasting also enhances the flavour. Star aniseed or badian, the flavour and aroma is liqourice-like and distinctly star anise. It is often broken into smaller pieces & added to rice dishes. One of the key ingredients in chinese 5 spice, this is a  common ingredient in oriental cooking.
